“With passionate delivery, Joselyn and Don wrap rich pleasing vocals and just enough instrumental accompaniment around compelling lyrics that range from reflective to socially relevant to playful. This is music for the ears and the heart, but also the mind and soul.”

— Taran Schindler, Grand Annex Music Hall

Modern Folk

Montana natives turned Angelenos, Joselyn & Don’s intoxicating music feels like a walk through mountain wildflowers and Southern California Joshua trees. Enter their wild garden - where blues, folk, and jazz form a dark understory illuminated with lyrical truth. Joselyn Wilkinson and Don Barrozo forage musical ideas from many sources and plant those seeds in rich Americana soil.

Their 2020 debut album "Soar" and 2022 EP "Seeds & Bones" have been warmly received by critics and added to over 200 independent radio stations across the globe. Americana UK, Twangville, Americana Highways, Alan Cackett Roots Reviews and others recognize Wilkinson's "one-of-a-kind voice," Barrozo's "fluid guitar work" and the "rich, lyrical, wild, spiritual imagery" of their music.

Wilkinson is the founder of the women’s global fusion band, ADAAWE, who has toured extensively and appeared with luminaries such as James Brown, Stevie Wonder, and Leanne Rimes. She previously released two independent albums and toured with her band Wild Roots in the mid-2000s. Barrozo, a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer with many album credits, also serves as film editor for the long-running animated series “The Simpsons.”

Joselyn & Don’s live arrangements feature finger-picked guitar, tenor ukulele, and percussion, allowing Wilkinson's voice to shine through with strength and vulnerability, joined by Barrozo’s powerful harmonies. They connect with audiences with their warm and engaging show and have shared billing with notable Americana artists including Willie Watson, Chris Pierce, Chris Stills with Lukas Nelson, and Lauren Monroe with Rick Allen. The duo have also been selected as Juried Artists for “Music to Life,” an organization focused on music for social change, who recognize their music’s ability to share truth, build community and support social and environmental efforts.

“This is grown-up timeless folk music, deeply rooted in blues and the natural world...With its natural earth themes, and reckoning of the past while looking towards a positive future, this is thought-provoking music that will bring a light to any room.” - Ian Kennedy
