“With passionate delivery, Joselyn and Don wrap rich pleasing vocals and just enough instrumental accompaniment around compelling lyrics that range from reflective to socially relevant to playful. This is music for the ears and the heart, but also the mind and soul.”

— Taran Schindler, Grand Annex Music Hall

Americana with Soul

Montana-raised, Los Angeles-based duo Joselyn & Don blend Laurel Canyon folk, soul, and classic Americana with a cinematic edge. Their music takes us on a soulful road trip through memory, identity, and the American landscape.

Written with a lens shaped by both artists’ small-town Montana roots and their creative lives in Los Angeles, Joselyn & Don’s third album, “Lost & Found Highway” moves through themes of rediscovery, change and loss. Produced by Graham Richman (Lizzie No) and mixed by Kevin Smith (Ben Harper) the songs are anchored by longtime Jackson Browne band members Mauricio “Fritz” Lewak (drums), Bob Glaub (bass) and Greg Leisz (pedal steel). Featured guests include Cristina Vane, Chris Pierce and Abby Posner.

Singles from the album include “Choose Love,” a timely anthem for unity featuring Chris Pierce, that gained national attention with features on NPR’s The Midnight Special and The Great American Folk Show. “Workin’ the Hi-Line” offers a powerful tribute to Don’s father, who emigrated from the Philippines and built a life in Northern Montana. “Girl From the Mountain” delivers an upbeat alt-country groove that celebrates the complicated gravity of home. “Right on Through (feat. Cristina Vane)” premiered on the SoCal Sound (KCSN) radio and has been featured on Americana radio shows across the U.S. and Europe. The album has charted on Folk Radio and spent over four weeks on Americana Radio’s Top 100, drawing praise from Americana UK, Twangville, and Americana Highways, with critics hailing their work as “rich, lyrical, and wild.”

Following their critically acclaimed debut album “Soar” (2020) and EP “Seeds & Bones” (2022), “Lost & Found Highway” deepens the duo’s signature blend of introspective songwriting, intricate finger picked guitar, and Joselyn’s one-of-a-kind voice. Recent years have seen Joselyn & Don gaining traction on the Americana and folk circuits, with performances at acclaimed venues like ASU Kerr Cultural Center, Grand Annex and Hotel Café and live appearances on Montana Public Radio and Wildwood Flower Radio Hour (KXLU). The duo has shared billing with notable artists including Chris Stills with Lukas Nelson, Willie Watson, Kyshona and Jess Williamson.

Joselyn is also the founder of legendary women’s global fusion band, ADAAWE, who toured festivals and performing arts centers across the U.S., released two albums and appeared with luminaries such as Stevie Wonder and Leanne Rimes. Previously, she released two solo albums and toured with her soul/folk band Wild Roots. Don got his start playing with world champion drum and bugle corps, The Blue Devils. He is a a multi-instrumentalist and composer with many album credits (Jill Sobule, Jaqueline Fuentes), and is also the editor for television's long-running animated series “The Simpsons.”

Joselyn & Don’s live arrangements feature finger-picked guitar, tenor ukulele, and percussion, allowing Joselyn's voice to shine through with strength and vulnerability, joined by Barrozo’s powerful harmonies. The duo sees their music as a powerful way to share truth and build community.
